Beauty Tip of the Week
Get perfect flip flop feet!
Slather on a luxurious foot cream after a hard day's work. Place a plastic bag around the feet (one per foot by the way otherwise you'll fall over… sorry, couldn't resist that), pop your socks on over the top and jump into bed. You'll have baby soft feet in the morning - slip on your flip flops and you're good to go!
Foodie Tip of the Week
Almonds
Almonds are the most nutritious of nuts. They can be used internally and externally and are a great source of protein for vegetarians.
Almonds, like most nuts, were thought in the past to have too much fat to be a healthy snack. Studies now show that ninety percent of the fat in almonds is unsaturated fat, and frequent consumption will lower blood cholesterol levels. One study showed that three ounces of almonds a day actually lowered a person's cholesterol by 14 percent.
Almonds are loaded with protein, fibre, calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin E, zinc, selenium, copper, phosphorus, biotin, riboflavin, niacin iron and many other antioxidants.
Yoga Tip of the Week
Why Invert?
Inversions set yoga apart from other physical disciplines: Psychologically, they allow us to see things from another perspective. Emotionally, they guide the energy of the pelvis (the energy of creation and personal power) toward the heart centre, enabling self-exploration and inner growth. Physically, they stimulate the immune and endocrine systems, thereby invigorating and nourishing the brain and the organs. When done correctly, inversions also release tension in the neck and the spine.
Thought of the Week
"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time".
John Lubbock
So that's all from us for this week.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
