At last, the warmer weather returns and it looks like it will be staying with us for the weekend, which is a good thing as there's lots happening to entice you out. It's a strange week though for London's nightlife community with a ominous cloud of club closures circulating, new venues opening, closed venues reopening, and open venues re-launching without actually closing!
The new Pop Up Pirates venue (see below listings for details) in Clerkenwell launches this week, another temporary structure (for three months only) amalgamating a bar, art space, and a dancefloor. Like the RED Gallery (see below listings for details) in Old Street (that only has a few weeks left), these temporary and hybrid style of venues help keep things fresh. And there are more popping up too, so keep in touch to hear about them. South of the river in London Bridge, SEOne lives again as a new live music venue called Debut London, and those people at Cable are re-launching at the beginning of June with the We Fear Silence team taking over. Well this weekend is looking anything but the calm before the Bank Holiday storm, with oodles of good stuff happening. Warehouse parties on school nights, vitality parties, birthday parties, venue launch parties, garden opening parties, terrace and roof parties, all form the musical backdrop from Thursday night until Monday morning.
